    About the speaker

    Dr. Larry S. Persons is a bilingual (Thai/English) leadership development expert specializing in multi-cultural contexts. He helps leaders in Thailand to navigate successfully between cultures to increase performance, productivity and financial stability. Received by Thais as a highly acceptable outsider due to his strong command of the Thai language and worldview, he is also a scholar with exceptional expertise on face as social capital for leadership in Thai society.

    Larry was born and raised in Thailand, where he has lived for over 30 years. He earned a PhD in Intercultural Studies in 2008 and has taught in a number of academic institutions, most recently at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University. His new book on Thai leadership, The Way Thais Lead: Face as Social Capital (Silkworm Books, 2016), is based on findings from extensive qualitative research among Thai leaders.
